An expandable container house uses fold-out side sections to create a wider internal space after it reaches site. It is a useful direction when transport needs to stay compact but the finished project needs more room for accommodation, offices, clinics, classrooms or other self-contained facilities.
How the format works
The main unit travels in a compact arrangement and expands at site as the side sections are opened. The interior plan can be prepared around bedrooms, living or work areas, a kitchen, bathroom, storage and the required door and window positions.
Common reference configurations
Typical double-wing references include 20-foot, 30-foot and 40-foot classes. Expanded plans are often discussed at roughly 37 m², 56 m² and 72 m² respectively. These are planning references only; actual dimensions, usable area and layout must be confirmed before quotation.
